Partner in the box
In a large chouette, the box can play with a partner, who shares the wins and losses. The chouette's settings decide from how many players this is offered.
- Before the game the box chooses Partner in Box or plays alone. The partner then plays as the box's partner.
- The box makes the decisions, but a double needs the partner's agreement, and so does a take. If they disagree, either can split: the partnership ends for the game, and each keeps what they have won or lost so far.
- How the next partner is chosen, and whether the partner stays with the box, are settings of the chouette.
